During the course of the Boxing Day fixture between Morpeth Town and Whitby Town, the game was halted due to an incident involving the use of racist language.
The individual supporter who uttered the completely unacceptable statement was identified quickly and ejected from the stadium.
The club simply will not tolerate this kind of behaviour and we operate a zero tolerance approach to racist and abusive language.
The person in question has been banned from attending any future matches at the ground and does not represent the views, beliefs, and perspectives of Morpeth Town AFC.
We are a community club that is inclusive and uses football as a way of bringing together different groups of society to enjoy the sport we all love. The archaic thought process of one person has no place at Craik Park
We acted quickly and decisively to handle the situation at the time and apologise to those affected, those that heard the comment, and those that have been affected by it in the aftermath, for the actions of one individual who does not symbolise what we are as a football club.
