Morpeth Town 2-2 Bamber Bridge

Honours were even at Craik Park on Saturday afternoon as Morpeth Town and Bamber Bridge played out an entertaining 2-2 draw.

The first chance resulted in the first goal as after 10 minutes Nathan Buddle sliced a clearance, which landed on the edge of the box, and Jack Baxter hammered it home via a deflection.

The Highwaymen were clearly targeting set pieces and the equaliser came from a wide free kick where Danny Barlow whipped the ball to the back post and Josh King rose unchallenged to head back across goal and draw level.

Morpeth had the wind in their sails and within the next few minutes Nic Bollado was denied one-on-one and Sam Hodgson fired just over from 18 yards out.

After the break it was as evenly contested as prior, but Morpeth came close first when Will Dowling speculatively tried his luck from 25 yards out on the volley and it required Charlie Casper to tip it away.

The Brig took the lead midway through the half as Robbie Clearly saw a shot tremendously saved by Langley from close range but Ewan Bange was there to top in the rebound.

The encounter was once again level with 10 minutes to go as a header towards goal was purposefully deflected by Sam Hodgson and beyond Casper in goal.

The final five minutes were chaos and end-to-end with both teams pushing for the win. The pick of the chances was a Jack Foalle one-on-one but Casper spread himself and denied him.

Morpeth XI: Langley; Evans, Robson, King, Buddle, Robson (C), Hickey, Barlow (Foalle 29′), Dowling; James, Hodgson, Bollado (Gibson-Booth 72′).

Unused subs: Chater, Brown, Follin.
