Game Notes
Morpeth Town finally kick-started their Northern League campaign on Wednesday night with a 2-1 victory over an in-form Consett side.
The Steelman came into the game unbeaten, having won two of their opening three games, but an own goal from Ryan McKinnon and a Liam Henderson strike late on handed the Highwaymen all three points.
Michael Sweet added a consolation goal deep into additional time, but Morpeth’s attention is now firmly on the FA Cup.
The greatest cup competition in the world is what it is known as, and Morpeth are all set to take on 2015 FA Vase winners North Shields in the Preliminary Round of the competition.
Nick Gray and Dave Malone made a couple changes to the side through the week, but have a very strong squad to select from at the weekend.
Paul Robinson will be looking to carry on his goal tally, while Henderson will want to add to his goal that he scored during the week.
