Morpeth Town seek to bounce back from their defeat at Marske United when they travel to Whitley Bay for a crucial EBAC Northern League Division One clash on Tuesday night. Every game between now and the end of the season is vital as The Highwayman seek to end the campaign on a high.
SNAPSHOT PREVIEW
FORM: Whitley Bay have struggled massively of late and are currently the least in-form side in Division One. Six losses from six most recently tells its own story and three wins from 15 at Hillheads is an alarming statistic for all those linked with the Bay. They started a run of five home league fixtures off with a 3-1 loss to North Shields. After our game, they face fellow title chasers Marske United. Their games involve goals, with only one fixture in league and cup ending scoreless at full-time.
Four defeats in nine sounds quite positive for Morpeth Town, but life at the top is brutal and that form has seen their title aspirations dented as Marske continue their unbeaten run in 2018. Twelve wins from 19 is still an excellent return on the road in the league, as is there hugely encouraging 51 goals away from Craik Park.
LAST GAME: Whitley Bay continued their poor sequence of results with a 3-1 loss at home to North Shields. Morpeth were in action the previous Thursday but fell to a 4-1 defeat at Marske United with Stephen Elliott’s goal a consolation.
