Morpeth Town are aware of the latest government guidelines regarding local lockdowns across the region.

We have sought the advice and guidance from the Northern Premier League and seen the restrictions put forward by Northumberland County Council. We have also received guidance from the Northumberland FA which states that:

“Football in the local authority areas of Northumberland, North Tyneside and Newcastle upon Tyne can take place this coming weekend in line with FA guidance.”

This statement was made following meetings with the Football Association. The clear advice from the league, who regulate us, is to continue with the game as they receive instruction from the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, a central government department.

The latter states that football can be played in front of limited supporters at our level of the sport only if strict social distancing rules and regulations are in place.

We have worked hard to implement an extensive range of new policies and procedures designed specifically with this in mind, hosting a test event during the recent friendly with Hartlepool United.

This is an evolving process and we will be introducing table service ONLY for the clubhouse and marquee. If there is no table available to sit at then you will not be able to enter the clubhouse for refreshments.

Face masks are encouraged, adherence to the Covid regulations within the ground are essential and you will not be able to gain access to the ground without proof of purchase of a ticket.

We appreciate the concern that may be generated following recent announcements and encourage each supporter with a ticket to make a personal decision about their attendance.

If you have any concerns regarding the above, please contact the club. If we hear of any changes to the situation, we will be sure to inform our superb supporters at the first available opportunity.
