One of our Media Team, Sam Donovan previews the forthcoming Northern Premier League Premier Division by looking at the clubs in the league.

In our final part, we look at Stalybridge Celtic, Warrington Town, Whitby Town and Witton Albion.

Stalybridge Celtic – Celtic

Celtic struggled at the start of last season with only victory coming in the opening nine games. Their fans will be hoping for a stronger start to push on for the higher stages of midtable.

Key Signing – Ashley Smith-Brown

The 25 year old joins having left Farsley Celtic in the summer. Coming through Manchester City’s academy, he has spent time on loan at NAC Breda and Hearts.

Season Prediction – Lower Midtable.

 

Warrington Town – The Yellows

Another strong showing from the Yellows will be anticipated by the fans as they look to build on a couple of positive seasons and look to go one step further and make the leap to the National League North.

Key Signing – Mo Ali

An 8 time capped Somali international defender, he arrives at the club from Southport. Born in the Netherlands, Ali moved to Manchester City in 2013 and played with Nathan Ake at youth level.

Season Prediction – Promotion Contenders. 

 

Whitby Town – The Blues

The Blues will be expected to push for the playoff spots this season having come close in recent seasons. The goals of Jacob Hazel should help the Blues reach their taget.

Key Signing – Priestley Griffiths

The former Middlesbrough and Blyth Spartans midfielder has joined Whitby and will look to establish himself in the midfield to push to the club into the playoff spots.

Season Prediction – Upper Midtable.

 

Witton Albion – Albion

A strong start to the 2020/21 season saw Witton notch up an impressive 5 victories in their opening 7 games. Their supporters will be hoping for the same this time round.

Key Signing – Greg Hall

The ‘keeper rejoins from Nantwich Town having departed Wincham Park in June 2019. In his final season with Witton, he collected the supporters player of the year award.
