Morpeth Town can confirm the list of players to be released following the completion of the 2021/22 campaign.
After finishing 10th in the NPL Premier Division, our first complete season at this level, and enjoying a history-making run to the fifth round of the FA Trophy, coupled with a record-equalling run to the fourth qualifying round of the FA Cup, Morpeth have had a dramatic season enjoyed by all.
The club would like to thank all of the players and coaching staff for their efforts and endeavours in contributing to such a great season.
As attention turns to the next campaign, the Highwaymen can confirm the following players have been released:
Carl Finnigan – 36 appearances (6 goals)
Stephen Forster – 330 appearances (16 goals)
Liam Henderson – 217 appearances (77 goals)
Connor Oliver – 37 appearances (1 goal)
Wayne Phillips – 163 appearances (12 goals)
Sean Taylor – 339 appearances (135 goals)
Each of the players has contributed in their own ways to the recent, unparalleled success enjoyed by the club of late that has included FA Vase victory at Wembley, a league and cup double in NPL East, successive promotions and extraordinary record-setting runs in the FA Trophy and FA Cup.
