Morpeth Town is delighted to announce the signing of Dale Pearson, with the forward returning to the club for a second spell.
Previously at Northern League Consett, the striker scored 67 goals in 84 appearances, including a goal at Wembley in the FA Vase final, before opting for a switch to Craik Park this summer.
A lethal finisher, Pearson was ready for a new challenge after helping Consett to promotion last time out.
“Ever since I spoke to Lynchy (manager Craig Lynch), Callum Morris and Mark Hedley, it has been a no-brainer pretty much,” said the 27-year-old who was part of our FA Vase winning squad in 2016.
“It is a higher standard than when I was here before. Compared to when I was last here, it is completely different. It is unbelievable what they have done to the place and you cannot fault it.
“I got promoted with Consett, but I felt like my time was up there. In three years, I’ve got to a Vase final, been to Wembley and scored at Wembley; I just felt like a new challenge.
“There’s a lot of pressure on me to perform but if Lynchy believes in me then why not? We need to build on last season and go for the play-offs.”
Lynch made Pearson his second summer signing, following on from forward Connor Thomson, with the manager keen to bolster his attacking options.
“Dale is someone who has hit high numbers in the Northern League over the last few seasons and is definitely ready to take the step up,” he said.
“I’ve got a lot of faith he will get in double figures for goals this season.”
