Jordan Fry has left Morpeth Town to join Northern League side Seaham Red Star.
The midfielder, who has made 253 appearances for the Highwaymen, was a hugely popular figure at the club, scoring 42 goals as Morpeth featured in the Northern League and more latterly in the Evo-Stik East division.
He was part of our history-making FA Vase winning side which beat Hereford 4-1 at Wembley and amassed enough appearances to make him one of the most featured players in our history.
“Jordan is part of our history and we wish him all the best in his future football career,”
Chairman Ken Beattie
“He was a great character, a real canny lad, and always worked hard for the team, working tirelessly in the middle of the park. Although he may not have grabbed the headlines all the time, his input into the team was often most appreciated by those around him. He is certainly a fans’ favourite.”
Manager Nick Gray echoed those sentiments of a player he managed for a decade.
“Personally, it is a sad day,” he said. “Unfortunately work duties, which ironically I helped him get, didn’t help his game-time. I had him as a player for 10 years; he is a top player and top lad.”
Morpeth’s summer business has seen David and Danny Carson depart, along with Fry, with Sean Reid joining from Blyth Spartans.
Everyone at the club would like to wish Jordan the very best of luck for the future.
