Morpeth Town have moved up to third in the EBAC Northern League Division One after a comprehensive 3-0 victory over Penrith at Craik Park.
Ben Sayer opened the scoring on 33 minutes with a delightful shot which sailed into the top corner from 25-yards.
Morpeth’s advantage was doubled when Michael Hall headed home three minutes later, while Chris Reid and Mark Davison hit the bar before half-time.
After a dominant first-half, the Highwaymen were made to wait for their third goal, with Liam Henderson striking home five minutes from time.
Morpeth remain unbeaten in the league in 2017 – 11 games – and have a tough trip to Seaham Red Star next up on Saturday afternoon.
