Morpeth Town AFC is pleased to announce the introduction of the Highwaymen’s 1884 Club, a membership club designed by supporters for supporters.
By joining the club, you will be assigned a number that is entered into a monthly cash prize draw, decided by a random number generator and conducted at Craik Park on the final calendar day of the month.
The winning number will receive 20% of the total amount raised that month – the more people who buy a number, the greater the potential prize!
Second prize will receive two complimentary tickets to a forthcoming league game at Craik Park, while third prize will receive a drinks voucher for two complimentary drinks on a home match day.
All those who purchase a number for six months consecutively will be entered into a draw for a season ticket for the following campaign.
The focus of the membership club is to:
  • Generate additional funding to boost the club’s ability to be self-sustaining, providing funding (either in whole or part) to assist with player purchases
  • Cover the cost of loan signings that enhance the squad
  • Support the off-field sustainability endeavours by helping pay some of the on-going costs incurred by a football club at Step Three.
When considering increased energy costs, not to mention a hefty five-figure travel bill per season, the outgoings are considerable. As a member of the Highwaymen’s 1894 club, you will be part of a drive to help the club we love to strengthen its foundations and help to build a more self-reliant future.
The cost of membership is £10 per month – just £2.50 per week! – which is paid by bank transfer in the first week of the month. Alternatively, you can set up a direct debit; another option is to pay in one annual amount (£100 instead of £120) and you can purchase as many numbers as you wish. Failure to pay your fees will result in you being taken out of the draw for that month.
The most important point to note is the remaining money in the pot, after deducting the prize amount, will be used for the benefit of the football club.
Run as a private society lottery, this enterprise will make no profit for itself whatsoever and will seek to work with the football club to strategically utilise the funds where they are most needed at the end of each month.
The decision reached on how to spend the surplus will be relayed to each and every member, with a clear and transparent explanation displaying the reasoning sent out by email.
The results of each monthly draw will be put on the club website and a list of previous winners will also be on this page.
If you would like to be part of this group, please email Ross at 1884@morpethtownafc.com to express your interest and also how many numbers you’d like to take.
