Morpeth Town manager Craig Lynch is urging his side to take their home form, and the confidence that goes with it, on the road.

The Highwaymen face two important trips away from Craik Park in their next three games, including Saturday’s outing at Bamber Bridge in the Pitching In NPL Premier Division.

An Emirates FA Cup Third Qualifying Round game at Whitby bookends a home clash with Guiseley on Tuesday night, and Lynch is adamant his side need to replicate their outstanding home showings away from Northumberland.

The Highwaymen have won three and drawn one at home in the league. Throw in two sterling FA Cup wins and Morpeth are building quite a reputation at Craik Park.

“We’ve been really strong at home over the last month,” said manager Lynch ahead of Saturday’s game in Lancashire.

“But we have to take that into the away games. There’s no hiding from the fact our away form, on a consistent basis, has not been the strongest.

“However, at the end of last season it was probably our improved away form that kept us in the league.

“We have to go with the confidence we have shown in the previous home games as we’ve mixed it with some great teams and come out on top.

“Bamber Bridge is another solid team in the league and they will be right up for it to avenge some recent results.”
