History

Both Ossett Town and Ossett Albion managed to gain Northern Premier League status and maintain that level of football for a remarkable time period. Battling each year to survive in this league and infrequently even challenging for a promotion spot.

Over the years talk of merging the clubs has been flirted with and even advance talks took place but to no avail did the officials of each club ever reach an amicable solution.

Queue 2018 and a discussion between both clubs took place on the 4th of January after an Ossett Town Juniors match where the son of John and Emma Chidlaw (Albion owners, along with Lee Summerscales) played in a game refereed by Ossett Town Vice Chairman, Lee Broadbent who operated Town alongside James and Dawn Rogers.

The club was formed in 2018 as the result of a merger between Ossett Albion (formed 1944) and Ossett Town (formed 1936).
