The Highwaymen secured their second pre-season success as they hit Seaham Red Star for six. A hat trick from Liam Henderson with further strikes from Sean Reid, Sean Taylor and Tom Potter put the gloss on a comprehensive performance. Dan Wilson grabbed one back for the hosts before a substitute grabbed a second consolation late on.

Sean Reid opened the scoring on 8 minutes when he turned with the ball on halfway and was allowed to come forward before striking a low effort that took a deflection and evaded the desperate dive of the ‘keeper.

The impressive Jack Foalle broke the offside trap and raced clear before sliding the ball across the box for Liam Henderson to blast home into the roof of the net to double the lead on 11 minutes.

Ben Sayer almost added a third on the quarter hour when his drive from the edge of the box struck the base of the post before striking the ‘keeper on the back and rolling towards goal but it was gathered at the second attempt.

It was three only minutes later when Reid galloped into the box and had his heels clipped for an obvious penalty which Henderson converted as he rolled the ball home sending the ‘keeper the wrong way.

Sean Taylor got in on the act when he converted on 29 minutes after Jack Foalle had once again broke clear and picked out Taylor who finished with aplomb.

The hosts did pull a goal back just before the interval when Dan Wilson who had an extremely brief spell at Craik Park last season pulled a goal back.

If anything that annoyed the Highwaymen as they responded immediately and restored their four goal cushion as Henderson curled the ball home from just inside the area.

A raft of changes of half time did little to dampen the enthusiasm of the Highwaymen as Tom Potter added the sixth when he cut inside his marker and placed an effort into the bottom corner.

Seaham did get a second consolation when one of their substitutes finished off a quick counter-attack with a good finish into the roof of the net.
