Morpeth Town can confirm the departure of Michael McKeown.
The midfielder joins Hebburn Town on a permanent transfer after making 10 appearances for the Highwaymen, all from the bench. He started our recent Integro Cup clash with Marske United, which was abandoned before half-time.
A Rolls Royce of a player, McKeown was a great character to have in the dressing room and leaves with the best wishes of everyone at the club.
“I’ve loved every minute of my time at Morpeth; the only thing missing was the game time,” said McKeown after news broke of his departure.
“In the end that is what dictated my move. I can’t thank Ken (Beattie, the chairman) and the staff enough and I hope the club do well in the future.”
Best of luck, Michael!
