Morpeth Town Reserves are set for their debut campaign in the Northern Alliance Development League.

Following a summer formation, the second string will represent the club in Division Four. This follows an intensive recruitment campaign, as  well as many hard hours on the training pitch weaving together a squad which is seeking to gel quickly ahead of the new season.

Acting as a link-up between our thriving junior section and the league and cup-winning adult side, the new team are learning quickly with their debut match a 3-1 friendly loss at an experienced Stobswood Welfare. Part of the management team, Nicky Jewitt, commented:

Ken Beattie (chairman) has been very supportive and we are all driven by what the future could bring. I have had two spells at Morpeth as a player myself so I’m excited to get into the management side and link up with Ken.

Their fixtures are due to be released on Friday, July 12th. Everyone at the club would like to wish them well in their first season.
