Morpeth Town end their season when they welcome Seaham Red Star to Craik Park tonight (7.30pm).
It is a game of significance for many reasons, with one being the chance to celebrate promotion to the Evo-Stik league as well as find out who has won the various player of the season awards at our presentation night following the game. Don’t forget there is a FREE buffet for you to enjoy after the game.
But it is also a sad night as we bid farewell to joint manager Dave Malone, who is ending his four-year spell at the club after he decided to step down from his role. In our programme for tonight’s game, we have a five-page feature with the man himself as he reflects on his time at the club and the season just gone. We also have plenty more, including:
- Fellow joint manager Nick Gray analyses the season.
- We take a look at our visitors Seaham Red Star.
- We print the best action shots from our club photographer, George Davidson. They’re worth a look!
- We have a four-page review of our Senior Cup final appearance at St James’ Park.
All of this and more in 40 pages of content, all for £1.50. Buy your copy at the turnstile tonight.

When seeking three points, home is very much a comfort for Seaham Red Star this season.
Only four teams can worsen their record of five league wins on their travels and it suggests Town have a chance of finishing the season in style at Craik Park tonight.
No victories in their previous nine league games points to a recent alarming slide which had seen them tumble into the relegation dogflight, albeit briefly as sides below them continued to falter.
Their fifth from bottom position will be met with an element of dismay as they looked a far better side when Morpeth travelled to the FMR Stadium at the start of the season, comfortably beating Town 3-0 on a day when they were given the runaround.
With nothing to play for in the final few games of the game, Stockton Town have beaten The Star 3-0, while North Shields battered a youthful side 8-0 last time out.
Only scoring three in their last six – conceding 16 – is far from encouraging form being shown by the visitors.
