Morpeth Town journey to Marske United on Thursday night knowing the outcome of that game may go a long way to deciding the fate of the EBAC Northern League Division One crown. If it’s anything like the previous encounter between the two sides – Joe Walton netting a wonder goal to win a pulsating game 3-2 (any excuse to mention that) – then it is sure to be a cracker.

SNAPSHOT PREVIEW
FORM: After suffering the hammer blow of being knocked out of the FA Vase at the semi-final stage, it will be crucial for Marske to bounce back quickly as they face a demanding run of fixtures to make up for missed Saturdays in the league in exchange for completing games in the Vase. They now face 17 games in 38 days, averaging three games per week. It is a daunting task but they have the quality to give it a go and they’re currently unbeaten in 2018 in Division One.
Town looked back in the groove against Team Northumbria, playing with a composure and confidence which seemed to fade during a tricky spell. But a convincing 2-0 win made it four games without defeat in league and cup; a statement of intent as we head into the final stretch. Morpeth reached a milestone mark as they registered their 50th away league goal this season at Shildon, in only their 18th away day.
LAST GAME: Morpeth claimed a routine 2-0 victory on Monday night at the expense of Team Northumbria. Liam Henderson was back amongst the goals, netting not once but twice for the first time in five games. His second saw him move on to 50 goals for the club but he missed out by inches on a hat-trick moment in stoppage time. Marske travelled to Consett on Tuesday night and were held to a 0-0 draw.
