Morpeth Town journey to Bishop Auckland on Saturday (3pm) looking to overcome back-to-back defeats for the first time this season. The Highwaymen squad are determined to bounce back when they travel to County Durham as they continue their pursuit of the EBAC Northern League Division One crown.
SNAPSHOT PREVIEW
FORM: Town suffered consecutive defeats for the first time this campaign and have lost three of their last four in the league. This is something of a culture shock to a side who in actuality have only been beaten four times in 32 league outings this season. Away from home they have scored a league high 46 goals and have also accrued the most away day victories in Division One with 11.
Bishop Auckland are struggling of late and have lost four of their previous six league games. At home they have a decidedly mixed set of results and tend to lose or win with seven victories and seven losses so far. To sum up their inconsistent season to date, they recently beat Washington 4-1 but were also hammered 6-1 by Penrith.
LAST GAME: Morpeth fell to a 3-1 loss at the hands of Newcastle Benfield at Craik Park on Wednesday night. A hat-trick from Paul Brayson ensured The Highwaymen trailed 3-0 at the interval before a late Stephen Elliott consolation reduced the deficit.
Bishop enjoyed a thumping 4-1 success at fellow strugglers Washington.
