Joint Morpeth Town boss Nick Gray was delighted with the response of his side after defeat on Thursday night was followed up by a convincing 4-1 win over Consett on Saturday.
After falling behind to a Michael Sweet penalty, Stephen Elliott levelled before Jordan Fry put Town ahead. David Carson and Joe Walton then made the points the safe with more goals in the closing stages.
But for Gray, the response was just as important as the goals on a day when Morpeth kept up the pressure on Marske United in the chase for the Division One title.
