Ryan Hutchinson is happy to be back at Craik Park, following his switch from Blyth Spartans.

The England ‘C’ international had a year and a half at Morpeth Town before later going on to play for Blyth, where he made 188 appearances over six years. Becoming an integral part of a successful team, Hutchinson has now made the switch to Morpeth, a place he already feels familiar with.

“I enjoyed my time here the first time I played for the club,” the 26-year-old told the club website.

“A lot has changed over the years but it is good to see some of the old faces are still here.”

Hutchinson has excelled at Blyth, but fell out of favour with manager Lee Clark after a serious injury saw him face a lengthy spell on the side-lines. Fully fit now, he is eager to make an impact at a club who he sees as upwardly mobile.

“Morpeth is a team which has done very well over the last few years and has developed a good side too,” added the defender.

“I’m sure the club’s ambition is to get promoted once again, especially with such an impressive team and ground.”

Hutchinson is available for the trip to Buxton in the NPL Premier Division, which kicks-off at 3pm on Saturday. If you can’t make the game, we will have live radio commentary through our Mixlr page. Search for Morpeth Town AFC Mixlr page to find us.
