After Saturday’s routine 4-1 victory over Loughborough Dynamo, we take a look at three things that we have learnt from the game.

1. Ben Sayer is the assist king

We spoke after the Gresley game, how Sayer was running the game from the middle of the pitch. On Saturday, he was in scintillating form as notched up another two assists. Firstly, he played the corner in which allowed Jeff Henderson to head home before he was fouled in the box for the penalty which David Carson slotted in. These were his 20th and 21st assists of the season. Not many players will end up anywhere near that tally.

2. Jeff Henderson and Iulian Petrache are having their own competition.

The Highwaymen are lucky to have not one but two central defenders who love chipping in with a goal. Jeff Henderson grabbed his fourth of the season when he powered home his header from Ben Sayer’s cross on Saturday. However, for the former Sligo Rovers player he still trails Iulian Petrache. Iulian has scored a very impressive 7 goals this season including his goal of the season contender at South Shields.

3. Liam Henderson is in the goal scoring groove.

By Henderson’s very own high standards, he didn’t get off to a flying start this season. However, he has now scored 5 goals in his last 5 games and now leads the scoring charts for the Highwaymen this season. Saturday saw him score an instinctive header which looped in and was denied in the second half. With Henderson hitting form, he’ll be hoping to notch up many more goals this term.
