Morpeth Town moved into the third round of the Integro Cup with a routine 2-0 win over Brighouse Town at Craik Park. Here’s three things we learned from the game:
Jack Foalle keeps on scoring
Making a joke of the step-up in quality, Jack Foalle continues scoring goals. Four goals in four games carries on his staggering run of form this season which has seen him net 21 in 21 matches, including his stint at Whitley Bay. Foalle looks every inch a top quality striker and is already making a big impact at Craik Park.
Dimitris Tsapolos looks the business
Dimi did a solid job between the sticks on his debut for the Highwaymen, claiming crosses with confidence while marshalling the defence in front of him. His big moment came just after half-time when, with the game poised at 1-0, he pulled off a magnificent instinctive save to deny Brighouse what looked a certain equaliser.
Look who’s back!
Joe Walton came on in the closing stages to make a welcome return to the side following an extended period on the sidelines through injury. The midfielder looked like he had never been away, charging down the flank and showing his direct style of play will be a menace to any side he faces this season. It’s good to have him back in contention.
