The situation that occurred on Saturday when a racist comment is alleged to have been made by a Morpeth Town AFC player towards Whitby Town player Jassem Sukar is currently under review by the FA.
Despite the fact that both clubs are backing their own player’s version of events as to what actually was said, both Whitby and Morpeth are committed to resolving the situation and are totally in agreement that racism has no place in our community and in our sport and that there should be zero tolerance to any form of abuse.
Let it be also said that both clubs have always had excellent relations and will continue to do so.
Moving forwards, we await guidance from the FA and we want the matter to be resolved quickly.
